Christmas Vacation

Our little vacation back to Utah was so needed. We enjoyed being home. We are now back and have to move on with our lives. Here are some pictures of our vacation and Christmas. Emilie loved playing with her cousins and enjoying all the attention she gets from our families. We had some fun times, and wish I would have taken more pictures. Our plane rides were very interesting... For this trip we flew home on my brothers buddy passes (which means we fly stand-by) The way out worked out to be OK, we flew from Tri Cities to Cincinnati and then we caught the one and only flight we could have caught to Las Vegas in a 3 day period, we were the last 2 seats available, weather was bad and even Vegas got snow. On the way home we did have very good luck. The day before we tried to leave there were more storms meaning they canceled flights. So all flights out of Las Vegas or Salt Lake were over booked, our chances were not very good. For us to get home it took 3 days, we flew from Las Vegas to Salt Lake on Saturday, spent the night at my brothers in Salt lake then woke up at 5 in the morning to try to catch anything we could... no luck in the morning but the afternoon we caught a flight to St. Louis after a long day we stayed the night at the Hilton and woke up the next morning and flew to Cincinnati and then on to Tri Cities. Our bags had already arrived in Tri Cities on Saturday so we had no clothing to change into no tooth brushes, Nothing. It was a crazy 3 days, Emilie was so good, Daniel had to miss one day of class, but for the most part it wasn't the worst day of my life. We sat in airports for a long time. So that is our story.. Here are a few pictures from the vacation.
This is Emilie being to scared to see Santa

Emilie and her new Christmas dress, we went down to Bunkerville and went to my home ward, it was so fun to see old friends and families that I never get to see anymore

Emilie and our Family Christmas party down there. This is the cousin exchange. We had a fun time, my grandparents gave us a smoked turkey with some pomegranates and some jerky for Emilie. Stuff we miss a lot being out here. It was so yummy.

This is a video of Emilie saying Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas.

Emilies present from the Gilbergs, She loves dolls
Christmas morning we woke up and went over to my house, and did presents there...forgot my camera (I need to get pictures from my mom) but she got an American Girl doll with some clothes and some way cute boots from Nicholas and Kelli. And some other fun little things.

Then we went back to the Gilbergs and Emilie opened her Santa gift. A Mickey Mouse Club House Tent. She loves it. It is bigger than I thought it would be but it will be so much fun for her and little Easton to play in. Here is a video of her opening it.

Our Christmas was good, Emilie loved opening presents, she had so much fun. We got to go the the temple when we were there, we went 4 wheeling in the snow, Daniel played in a basketball tournament, tried to have a date night that ended short cause Emilie was crying for us to come home, hung out with friends, got to eat at Junction, Lotsa Motsa and Texas Roadhouse, places we don't get to eat at out here, and had a blast with our families. So I think that is the end of a very long post.

It was so fun to see you guys. Emilie is so big and fun. It makes me sad that the girls can't be hanging out right now. I sure miss having you down the street. I'm sorry about your flights home! That is a nightmare. At least you made it home safely.

Hey there.
Ya, we had fun. I'm sad he's gone. He will be back end of March. That is the plan for now anyway. Looks like you guys had fun also. Hey I tried to click on the manger scene pics with the kids and I couldn't. I wanted to steal them. Do you know why? Anyway, take care. Tell Emily hi from us!

Oh the joys of buddy passes! I have flown several times that way thanks to an uncle that is a pilot and 2 other uncles that are airplane mechanics. They can be sooooo interesting. Yours sounds like a bit of a nightmare, but at least you made it safe. Oh, and I am CRACKING up about Emilie not liking Santa...because we saw that Santa too and he looked about 12 years old!! Kinda freaked me out also!;)
