Daniel is getting OLD, Gingerbread Houses

So yesterday was Daniel's birthday, He is starting to get old! We had a pretty regular day... He went to school and when he got home we hung out a little, we were on the phone with Direct TV for about 3 1/2 hours. (NEVER sign up with them, customer service is more than TERRIBLE) Then 2 of his buddies from school came over and we ate some stakes, potato's, squash & rolls. It was a good little dinner. Here is his birthday cake, he loves this ice cream cake (Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Caramel, Oreos, Whipping Cream) that I usually make in just a 9x13 pan. So this time I made the ice cream cake, but made it look like a birthday cake! Anyways, I was happy with the turn out, it sure is yummy. We had a fun night, I bought him the new Seinfeld Scene It game, and we played that and I was so much fun. We actually knew the answers! haha. So here are a few pictures of the party and also the gingerbread houses we made last week.

Gingerbread House!
So this year we made our gingerbread houses with our friends the Whitneys, but it just didn't turn out as good as times in the past. Emilie loved downing the candy, she was way more interested in eating them than helping me. But anyways, we still had a good time.

She is so crazy!

Thanksgiving 2008

So we were so lucky to be able to go back to Kanab this year for Thanksgiving, we booked our tickets like a week before we left because we found a great deal and decided that it was going to cost us more to go somewhere else than to just fly home. Anyways, we loved loved loved being back in Utah and were so excited to see all of our family. Emilie had so many cousins to play with she had a good time. She did not want to come home. Every time the plane landed on the way home she would go. 'OK, all done, go see grandma.' So all in all we had a great time and here are a couple of pictures from Thanksgiving day.
Sara, Carol and I woke up at about 6:30 and started working on the turkey, it was fun... to start off it hadn't thawed out all the way so we had to run some hot water on it, and then it was time to put the rotisserie stick in it. ha ha, we couldn't get it in very well so we brought out the hammer to break some bones. I thought it was so funny, so I went and got my camera.

Here are the kids Thanksgiving morning watching the Thanksgiving Day parade

Here is our little family behind the Turkey. Emilie learning a new word that day and loved saying it. Our Turkey turned out great.
Here are the kids at their table. Emilie loved being a big kid
The rest of the family. We had a great dinner.
Amy and Rhett with their family showed up the next day. That night we started the music and dancing session. I don't think Emilie stopped dancing the entire time. She loved it. ps... don't mind that she doesn't have a shirt on, she said she was hot...:)

A little picture of Daniel and I, Emilie is in the next one but she had been crying right before so its not that good.

Here are some videos of the dancing. Fun times
And today we get to set up our Chirstmas Tree. YAY, Daniel is so excited! haha (he hates setting it up when we are not going to be here for christmas)

Grandpas Weekend Visit

So this weekend my dad flew out to visit us. We really enjoyed having him here. It also snowed this week. Not very much but Daniels classes got canceled. It was nice to have him home but funny also that they cancelled his classes. Anyways, Grandma Gilberg sent Emilie this cute snow outfit and it came just in time for the snow, I think she likes to wear it. On Friday we all went to see Twilight which was fun. My dad hasn't read the books but he liked it and Daniel and I thought it was good but felt they could have made some parts better. Then Saturday morning we woke up and went to the church to have Daniels Turkey Bowl (flag football game) he put together. It was fun to watch and even funnier when they would go down in the snow. We also had to speak on Sunday and the 3rd person that was supposed to speak with us canceled, so my dad had to talk instead it was funny, they called about an hour before church. So here are are few pictures of those events.

Daniel took Emilie out in the snow. She didn't stay out long because she cant stand to get her hands and feet dirty. She wasn't cold she just had snow on her hands and shoes so she wanted to come in. Emilie and Grandpa playing arcade games. Emilie thought they were cool.

Gilberg #2...ITS A BOY

ITS A BOY!!!!! We had our ultrasound yesterday and found out that Emilie is going to have a little brother. We are so excited, especially Daniel. I could tell he was like jumping for joy when the tech said it. The picture is so good, there is no doubt that its a boy. haha. The other pictures are not so good. So Here are a few. Also just thought I would throw some in there of me at 21-22 weeks, I have been starting to poke out a lot lately. Its really sucks when you work on your body so hard after the first pregnancy and then you just have to get fat again. But that's what we are here for I guess. haha Anyways, Here is little Easton Gilberg. He will be proud of this pictures when he is older.

The tech wrote this picture to Emilie

Emilie Kissing her little brother

Here I am. I look like crap. I don't ever feel like doing my hair lately. But anyways, you get the idea.

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

I just wanted to write about some of the things I have been feeling lately. As most of you know our church has been under a lot of attack for supporting prop 8. Daniel and I have been reading about the things that have taken place at the LA temple and we saw the riots at the SLC temple and just the other day there was a huge one at the NYC temple. As I'm watching and reading these things I cant even explain how I feel. I don't understand and probably wont ever understand why some feel the need to act this way. Other christian churches took part in supporting prop 8 but our church is the one who is being attacked. It just re confirms that the church is true. The things that have gone on around our sacred temples have been nothing but evil and amazingly enough the temple grounds are still in good condition. I just feel that even though we may have tough times right now and even tougher in the future I couldn't be any more grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I feel so overwhelmingly blessed to be able to have a healthy family and a great husband who takes care of us so good. Without Daniel or Emilie I don't think I would be able to wake up each day. I think my pregnancy hormones are fully functioning today. But I just wanted to write about some of my feelings and just express how grateful I am for my life and the amazing opportunities I've had so far. I am so thankful to know that my family will be together forever and no matter how bad the world gets I will always have them and my Heavenly Father to turn to. I am so blessed.

Halloween 2008

Halloween was so much fun with Emilie this year. She loved every minuet of it. She was so funny and cute about going trick or treating. Thanks to the elders we found a great area to go trick or treating and Emilie got loaded. She was so obsessive of her bag of candy. The thing was loaded and she would just let it drag on the ground instead of letting us hold it for her. Anyway, we had a good time even though we didn't have any family or friends to go with. Its been a little hard lately thinking the holidays are coming and we are going to be alone on thanksgiving. But Christmas isn't too far away. So hopefully we can make it till then.

These first few are of us carving pumpkins. I wish we could be as motivated as the Ulrich's. They have awesome pumpkins, but we try and we had fun. Emilie kept wanting to eat the pumpkin. She kept licking it. It was funny.

These are our pumpkins, If you cant tell it is supposed to be a haunted house and a ghost.

The Saturday before Halloween we had a branch trunk or treat. It was a great turnout for the branch. we had about 10 cars. Since Daniel and I are in the YM/YW we put together some fun activities for the kids to do day.

This is Emilies friend Jackson. They love playing together.

Here is well. The entire primary, plus some. It is so funny. The room that you see us all in is the chapel. This is the only big room of the building. Its kind of like a big circle. Its just a phase 1 so it is sooooo small.
Emilie and I at our car. I made this spider. Thanks to VVES for teaching me how..haha

These are the little goodies I made for the party. Since there are not many kids I made them all Carmel apples.
This was a little board Daniel and I made. Its for a bean bag toss

This is the start of our Halloween night and trick or treating.
Some lady giving Emilie candy. Everyone thought she was a boy because she was dressed as a monkey. But oh well.. thats what she wanted to be.

Our Little Family

She would not even let us hold her candy in the car!

Just a quick update on the new little one on the way. I'm doing good these days. I was having really bad headaches and thought that I was going to have to live off of Tylenol but they have now gone away. I'm thinking it was all the crazy hormones. But we will get to find out the sex in 2 weeks. I have 1 more week until I'm half way...It seems nice but 20 weeks seems long still. The little one has been moving and kicking a lot lately, which makes me feel more like a pregnant lady, the pants are starting to get a little tight...and more. But things are good. We will keep you posted.
